Program provides computers for underpriviledged

COLUMBIA - Tracy Bradford wanted to get her 11-year-old son, Dakota, the perfect gift for his birthday. She was surprised when she found out she was getting a brand new computer, which will ultimately become Dakota’s present.

State nixes 4-day school plan

Tennessee law effectively bars Maury County schools from holding class only four days a week to save money on fuel, a state spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Rachel Woods with the Tennessee Department of Education said state law requires students to attend class for 180 days.
