Mt. Pleasant to buy land for water treatment expansion
MT. PLEASANT — Commissioners were quick to approve the acquisition of land for expanding the city’s water treatment plant, the sale of city land and renewing the city’s insurance plan Tuesday at City Hall.
Commissioners voted unanimously to buy one and a half acres of land adjoining the city’s aging water treatment plant on Sandy Hook Road. City Manager Richard Goode said the current plant’s filters are in poor physical condition. If they were to fail, the city would be in trouble.
