Few seek School Board seats
MAURY COUNTY - They determine where your children go to school and how they dress. They hire the person in charge of shaping Maury County’s educational priorities. And they are responsible for managing a multimillion-dollar budget that dwarfs the spending plans of most private businesses in the county.
But in recent elections, there has been a shortage of people willing to run for school board. When voters head to the ballot box in August, several races will already be effectively decided.
