Shooting trial jury to be selected

COLUMBIA - The trial of a Columbia man accused in the shooting death of Robert Porter Hooten Jr. is scheduled to begin before the end of the year.

Judge Stella Hargrove and attorney Wesley Bryant, representing Christopher Juan Cathey, agreed to begin selecting a jury for the trial beginning the first week of December. Cathey’s trial was supposed to begin June 30 but was delayed.
