THP steps up patrols for Fourth holiday

State law enforcement will take to the highways and the waterways during the Independence Day weekend, a spokesman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol said Wednesday.

The THP and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency plan a cooperative search for impaled drivers and boaters for the holiday period that begins at 6 p.m. Thursday and ends at midnight Sunday, spokesman Mike Browning said.
