Fire safety event set for Thursday

The Columbia Fire Department’s Fire Safety Event will be held 3 p.m.-5 p.m.Thursday at the Shoppes of Neely’s Mill on Trotwood Avenue.

Columbia Firefighters will have a fire truck to show youngsters and will pass out stickers and helmets. Free baseballs also will be given to the first 50 youngsters and Heritage Appliance Center will be grilling hot dogs. Adults also will have the opportunity to sign up for a free smoke detector courtesy of Heritage Appliance. More information may be obtained by calling (931) 840-8747.
