Council takes stand on aluminum landfill

COLUMBIA - City council members are asking the county to block a proposed landfill and suggested the matter could end up in the courts.

City Manager Paul Boyer Jr. said there was a fatal flaw in two Mt. Pleasant companies’ proposal for an aluminum landfill on about 90 acres off Witherspoon Road, northwest of the city limits.
