Cuts could lead to layoffs, director says
Educational assistants could be laid off, textbook purchases delayed, teacher raises eliminated and money for supplies cut after a county commission committee slashed the school system’s proposed budget.
Director of Schools Eddie Hickman said all of those options will be on the table when board members sit down to balance the district’s budget with a revised spending limit.
