Enrollment is under way for Spring Hill’s newest preschool. Spring Meadows Academy, a new preschool under the umbrella of Spring Meadows Church of Christ, is scheduled to open next fall.

With only days left for seniors, the anticipation has set in. You can feel the stress of the graduating class trying to raise their average for each class to obtain their official exemptions from finals. Everyone wonders what is going through each graduate’s mind, and senior Brittany Burton officially told us.

Special to The Advertiser News Seven determined Chapman’s Retreat Elementary School students began a journey in early October 2008 to solve one of the most difficult Destination Imagination challenges ever written. They earned the honor to represent the city of Spring Hill at the DI Global finals tournament at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville this week.

Madi Copeland Indy Nation - 2009 Students, teachers, and faculty, alike have all done it again. May 21, 2009 officially marks the last day of school for students. At Indy, it’s a slim chance that you’ll actually find someone who isn’t looking forward to the end of the year with growing restlessness. With the end in sight, it’s hard for anyone to not get caught up in the conclusion of another year of Independence. With such a memorable year, students and faculty will leave this year behind with memories to last a lifetime.

Contract negotiations are under way for the purchase of land off Hurt Lane near Duplex Road for a new Williamson County Elementary School in Spring Hill.

Former Spring Hill Mayor Danny Leverette met with elementary students from local schools recently to give some words of encouragement and praise for their efforts in participating in the Kids Music City Marathon.

Last week, the Heritage Elementary school library, hallways and classrooms were filled with more than 4,000 food items, supplies and toys.
